Our Background
My name is Rick Bappert and I am the owner/manager of Lil Rick's. I started this business in 1983; had a shop downtown for 3 years, then we moved into our current location in 1986. My name is Rick Bappert and I am the owner/manager of Lil Rick's. I started this business in 1983; had a shop downtown for 3 years, then we moved into our current location in 1986. Up until March of 2018, along with being a full line mechanical shop, we also did collision work. Now, we still do complete mechanical repair, alignments, vehicle undercoating, and we can also do minor body work, as long as there is no painting involved. Our lead mechanic, Bryan, has been with me since 1993, my longest running employee. My wife Michelle and I have been married since 1994, and she has been working at the shop with me since 1996.
Myself and all of the technicians are ASE Master Certified and I am also ASE Certified in collision repair and collision estimating.
I wanted to offer mechanical repair, because back in the early 80's, I got really tired of seeing my Mom (God rest her soul) getting taken to the cleaners by mechanic shops, from being way over-charged to making her believe that her vehicle required repairs that didn't need to happen. Once I started my own shop, I knew I wanted to build a client base from providing honest services with honest prices. Something I have said quite often over the years to customers is, you might not like what we say, but it will be honest. I believe the reason we have been around so long is by continuing this practice religiously. You won't find us trying to upsell you on items that are simply not needed on your vehicle. We want repeat customers and we want them to refer others to us. And considering roughly 85% of our business is repeat customers, I'd say that's working.
